So this guy, his name is Heyward. If I could make one dude famous, it’s this guy. He works at Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack in Arden — but right now, Rocky’s is closed.
Instead of finding another job or fleeing town to seek out paid work elsewhere, this incredible dude, Heyward, chooses to show up every day and work in the Crisis Response International mobile kitchen. And he does it all for free.
Now, let me tell you, it’s over 100 degrees in that kitchen, right above those grills, and yet he works there for hours on end, tirelessly serving the community day after day! What’s truly remarkable is that nobody even asked him to do this! He just showed up and went to work, ready to help everyone in need.
I’ve seen him there sometimes for 10 hours a day, completely immersed in his service. He’s not in it for recognition or a paycheck; he genuinely wants nothing more than to serve his community. He doesn’t ask for supplies or food — he simply helps non-stop, pouring his heart into every meal he prepares.
This past week, he was crucial in serving almost 600 people on Tuesday alone and nearly 1,000 more on Wednesday. And you can bet I’m 100% sure he’s going to be doing it again tomorrow without hesitation.
So, the real question is: how can you bless Heyward? No, seriously. Swing by Rocky’s on October 3rd from 11:30 AM to 3 PM with a gift or blessing for this guy and let’s shower him with appreciation and gratitude for his selfless dedication. He deserves it more than anyone.
